Biblical Principle #11 – Self-Control
“Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.”
How many times in life do we say or do something we regret and wish we could take back. That’s were self-control comes in. By reaching deep into God’s Word, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit and realizing we can do everything in His strength and not our own, we can live a life were self-control is practiced consistently. And when we stumble, He is right there to pick us up. His grace and mercy endure forever. And we can shine for His glory.
Peter was able to walk on water until he took his eyes off the Lord. But even then, the Lord reached down and rescued him. As we continue our walk with Christ and our journey of practicing self-control let us always remember He is there for us, to help us in any area we desire to do improve.
“God has equipped you to handle difficult things. In fact, He has already planted the seeds of discipline and self-control inside you. You just have to water those seeds with His Word to make them grow!”
